Mom N Me

8*8 inches streched canvas, Acrylic painting

I wanted to try something I haven't tried yet (have done one or two drawings not a serious try...) and thats elephants. I love them as any Keralite would...they are part and parcel of our culture. I love the feeling that exists between the mother and the baby. They so adore each other.

Its a simple painting on canvas...a tribute to temple elephants!

PS: Its about to be a year since I started blogging. There's going to be a give away soon. So do check out DWOA (Deepaz World Of Artz) for some 'Happenings', in a few more days...

Hey yar! Brillaint sketch.. It's so good that u gave a thought about the elephants, the inevitable and magnificent part of our tradition and culture, without which all "poorams and velas" look so incomplete.. Also, as u mentioned abt the bond, I cud compare that with the cosy and warm bond that u and Duttu share...u'v brought that out well in this creation... :) Nice, Deeps.. And, I have left a thought on the previous one too, a reminder, just in case u leave out.. I dont need thanks for my comments, dear, but ur word of approval, datz it..:)

@ Deepa

My fav. Animal is Elephant and often my friends used to tease me that one day my love for elephants will make me have one in my own home...perhaps...donate one Big Door House to live with tiniMini Ele!

Beautiful Painting! yeah..I have visited Kerela...and had my first Ele. ride there..was a grt fun! And your painting have depicted the same divine experience! Simply have no words to express the beauty behind the long trunks and the strokes you make them Last really long!

Elephant though have huge body..are one of the most humble creature on earth!

Bwt: Long back I worte a post on Elephants...I thought u might just like to have a glance over it. It is the post with my facination with Elephants!!

That's great. They look like velvet. I can almost feel them How strange. I too love elephants and the way the baby always hangs by the mom. That's an excellent painting Deepaz. Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend.

I love the earthy colour here that you have chosen.
Yes, elephant I love them too.
They are very suitable characters for drawing, painting and creations.
I hope there is a continuation of this story!
